I currently have 01 malibu that cranks but wont start..fuel and spark are fine doesnt throw up any codes and the theft light isnt blinking...could it be a bad ignition switch?is there a way i can test it? thanks

 

I've had the same experience, but our check engine light will illuminate along with the battery light. There are no codes, and the battery is fairly new (not to mention we tried a jump start anyway). Everything sounds fine, but then it won't start running. Also, I've tried the anti-theft trick with no luck. Someone else mentioned an electronic switch tied to the ignition that sometimes needs to be reset, as they experienced this problem with a Chevy truck. Any ideas?

 

you mentioned fuel is ok...what pressure reading did you get? did you put a noid light on the injectors to see if they are opening up?

 

Try taking the two battery cable ends off of the batttery and touching them togeather and then reinstall them. After you get them reinstalled try to start it.

 

gas spark timing compression if your getting gas and spark check the timing it may of jumped
