Confused! Is this a transmission or automatic engine start stop feature issue?
2014 Chevrolet Malibu LS

No codes our scanner. This usually happens more so after driving a distance on the highway (for example: an hour drive) at speeds of 75 or more. I don’t really notice the car having this problem if I’m just driving around my home town where the speeds are 45. So mostly seems with distance.
Example; almost an hour drive. I’m at a red light that is taking a bit to change so it does the shutoff thing because I’m having to sit on brakes for a while. Finally, the light changes, I get off the brakes and it starts up. I give it the gas and it does not move. I take my foot off the gas pedal completely and then then re-apply foot to give it the gas again. Finally it snatches and then takes off. The ****** is hard enough to jerk you.
So yesterday was the same. We drove a little over an hour. One of the hills it was a bit sluggish going to my destination but nothing to write home about. But how embarrassing coming back and in the drive through line this time. Was on the brakes but this time it did not cut off. The car in front finally moves and I go to move up. Took my foot off the brakes and applied the gas and nothing - would not move. I take my foot off the gas pedal completely and then then re-apply foot to give it the gas again. Finally it snatches and then takes off.
Sigh! I don’t know what to think. First vehicle with the automatic engine start stop feature. So it makes me wonder if a malfunction with that feature or we have transmission problem brewing.
Please help with ideas!

It sounds like the Auto Start/Stop feature is working as intended. They are designed to have a slight delay between it restarting and the transmission engaging. However, there is generally a button that can be pressed toggling the feature On and Off. In other words, it is functioning normal.
Hope this helps to clear up any confusion.
