I have a 2005 Malibu LS. I want to make the bow ties both front and rear black. should I take them off and paint them? If so how do I do this? Or should I just tape of logo while its on the car and paint it? Also I read you can possibly take the gold part of the logo off instead of the whole thing? How should I go about doing this guys?

 

on my truck i wet sanded mine.. and cut out a paper bag to the shape of the emblem then taped it so it wouldnt move and painted it right on the truck..
