Disarming Airbag System

Disarming Airbag System
Hello
Ref.
2005 Malibu Maxx, LS
I have to do some work around the dash board and panels:
Remove replace Multi Use light/turn signal switch
Remove/Replace/Secure radio
My question is: One: if I remove the Airbag fuse will that disarm the Airbag system and prevent from firing while I'm working around the dashboard or is it necessary to disconnect the battery?
Two: What are the consequences/ramifications to the on board computers of disconnecting the battery?
Three: If I use a "memory saver" and remove the Airbag fuse will that combination work to preserve the memory and prevent the Airbags from firing?
Thanks

Hi
Thanks for the reply and info. You state: " just pull the two fuses" my owners manual shows only one airbay fuse. Is there any other precautions one should use when pulling an airbag fuse? Your thoughts. Thanks.

There should be 2 fuses at the fuse panel in the center console.
Make sure th key is off, pull the fuses, wait for 10 mins, then go to work
