Downstream CAT Studs--Drive 'Em Out? (07 MAXX)
Hi! Had to cut bolts/studs at resonator. Need to know what to expect. Can see bright red on perimeter where studs come through flange as if red threadlock. Anyone know if I can drive those studs out with impact hammer? Thanks, M

I'm here for the party
should be able to. the old ones might have splines to prevent them from turning during install so it might take a little but they should be able to bust free. just be carefull on where they shock from the hammer might be transferring to

Had to cut off and drill out studs on this 2007 Maxx. Studs were splined but appear to have been welded in. Could not drive out with impact hammer, even at 100psi. Had to enlarge cat end flange to 1/2" holes to mate with Walker replacement resonator. Cut a 2x4 about 15-1/2" long to place between flange and a support toward the front of the vehicle. Managed not to destroy the flexi/bellows section. Balance of job as expected. M * P.S. Bucket list: learn how to use a welding torch.
