Default Catalytic converter replacement

OK I know my element is loose inside my cat and I need to replace it because it's driving me and my passengers nuts when we idle. Has anyone used a universal cat? Any tips? It looks like the inlet is 2.5" and the outlet is 3". I have the 4.3L V6 on a 2000 S10 with 2wd.

I hate the design on these trucks and how much they cost because of it. So $350 for the cat and then another $50-$150 for oxygen sensors that will inevitably break or won't come off the old pipes that I'm forced to replace.

jc whitney has one for about 85 dollars. comes with a short pipe. you might have to cut it off and weld in place of old cat
