Catalytic converter replacement - opinions needed
2001 2500 4x4 Suburban, 6.0, 154,000 on the clock
Time to ditch the stock exhaust, most likely going with a dual in/dual out magnaflow with dual pipes all the way out the back. Question, to replace catalytic converters or not?
No performance issues or check engine lights. Only real mechanical issue has been the knock sensors on the 6.0.
However the heat shield on the GIGANTIC muffler is rattling and I'm partial to dual exhaust. Is it worth changing the cats at this time (given they are 13 years old with 154,000 miles on them) or should I maintain a "if it ain't broke" mentality?
TIA for all opinions.

Thanks for the thoughts.
2 cats, one on each bank just before the muffler.
Even though due to weight it is exempt, I had emissions pulled anyway. Passed with flying colors. Probably keep the cats for now, go with a Dynomax Ultraflow Welded X, pipes out the back and call it a day.
Thanks again!
