Default Electrical problem

2008 Malibu LT, 4 cyl, 52,XXX miles. Got check engine light - "Service Air Bag." Stopped car and now no electric at all. Car entirely dead - Not even enough power to lock doors or pop trunk. Won't jump. Thoughts?

Welcome to the forum...

sounds like a dead battery to me...one of the batteries cells may have collapsed, this will short out the battery and there will be no power at all...
Might also want to have the alternator checked as it can short out...

Yes. When the op tries to jump start, does the battery draw alot of current, i.e can you hear the rpm's on the jumper car drop? You may not have a good connection, however if your dead car is drawing alot of current without cranking, I'd suspect a shorted battery cell also. Disconnect the battery, and hook up jumper cables to the battery cables, do you have lights ect?
