Engine Died
Howdy all,
Hope I can get some help here. Have a 2006 Malibu with the 3.5 under the hood. Had the engine replaced back in late July early August of 2013. The engine came out of a Pontiac Montana. Yesterday 01/04/14 I was heading to work hit my off ramp and noticed that the RPM's were slowly dropping no idea why the check engine light was on so I slapped the car into neutral and tried to restart the car on the roll. Got halfway up the off ramp still no restart pulled over and the starter was doing its usual and wouldn't stop engaging the flywheel. a few times it seemed that the car would start but just died. I need to know is this a fuel pump or a timing chain issue. I'm not going to mess with the car today due to large amounts of snow outside. Please help me out here I cant afford to buy another new car at this time. I still have a 2000 Impala that is plaguing me sitting in the garage.
