Default Having problems with my 07 Malibu LT

Hey everyone, this is my first post here, as I'm a new member. Main reason I joined was to get help with some problems I've been experiencing with my Malibu. For the past 2 months or so, whenever I'm going a steady 40MPH, my RPM's rev up fast and then drop down and it feels like its jumping or skipping a gear. Is this a transmission problem? Any and all help with be much appreciated !
