Default How to remove rear seat coushion

Hi guys,

I have purchased a 2024 Chevrolet Malibu and want to install some seat covers. However I don't know how to remove the rear bench?

If I yank it upwards really hard would it come off or I can break something? Is there a special tool for it? There are some YouTube videos in which they are using a long flat head screw driver. I tried that but I was basically poking it blindly and couldn't even get it close, I also don't have a screw driver like they do.

Any suggestions?

Thank you!

I can't say specifically for you '24 Malibu but I've been able to remove the rear seat bottom in older cars by pushing it to the rear while trying to raise it up. try that unless someone more familiar jumps on here with better advice.

Hi, Thanks for the reply!

I digged the internet and was able to find a service manual that described how to remove the rear seat. They recommend an 18inch pry bar to remove it.

Post the picture so that its helpful for anyone looking to have a nice fitting seat covers!
