Default Malibu Steering wheel return issue

I have had my '03 Malibu since it was brand new, and the steering wheel moves a little harder currently. Also when I turn onto a road, the steering wheel does not return to center position and my wheels pull to the right or left depending on which way I turned. Is there a way to fix the steering? I heard it might be a orientation sensor for the steering, but have no knowledge of where it is and how to check it. Thanks for the help.

this problem is usually one of three problems, a dry tie rod end joint, a dry ball joint, or the bearing plate on the top of the struts(most likely cause)
