I have a 2011 Chevy Malibu 2.4, when trying to start it makes a single click, and won't start. The lights, and radio will come turn on. I removed the starter and had it tested at O'Rielys. They informed me the starter was good. Any other ideas on what would be causing this problem?

have you done any troubleshooting?
Did you try boosting it from another vehicle?

The only troubleshooting I did was have the starter tested, and check the fuse for the starter. I will try jump starting it as you suggested to see if that works.

If boosting gets it started, then have your battery and alternator load tested.

Jumping the car did not work at all, it did the same thing a single click. The click definitely is coming from the starter. I tried tapping the starter as someone was trying to start it, and it didn't make any difference.

Yes, I had the other vehicle running, I left them hooked up for a little bit, and still nothing. I also tried pressing the gas on donor car, while trying to start and it made no difference.

ok so if power is good, and starter is good, that must leave the wiring. try putting the booster cables right on the starter. clamp the negative right on a starter mounting bolt and positive on the positive stud. You'll need a screwdriver or something to jump the starter solenoid .

I removed the starter and tried jumping the starter. I noticed the starter motor spin but did pop out.

*did* or *did not* ?

I said test it on the vehicle. Removing it won't test any of the electrical connections.

If the bendix doesn't pop out then the starter is faulty.
