Default p0498 - evap canister solenoid valve 2 (n115): signal too low

Hello, hope you’re well!

I recently failed emissions because of the following issue:
p0498 - evap canister solenoid valve 2 (n115): signal too low

Can someone confirm what powers the evap canister solenoid? Is it the Fuel Pump Control Module (e.g., https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/find/2018-chevrolet-malibu-fuel-pump-control-module.c5506)?

I replaced the following in hopes of solving the problem:
- Vapor Canister, including the Vapor Canister Vent Solenoid
- Canister Purge Valve

At this point, from my research it’s 1) wiring (not sure I can find root cause given my knowledge/ experience) or 2) the PCM (powertrain control module.

That said, when I spoke w my dealer Parts rep, he said that it’s powered by the the Fuel Pump Power Control Module (https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/find/2018-chevrolet-malibu-fuel-pump-control-module.c5506).

Can someone please help me confirm what powers the component in question? Before I take it in to the dealership, I’d like to rule out if it’s the Fuel Pump Control Module, which I understand is in the trunk and easy to replace.

Thank you. 🙏

You'll need to clear the code out to make sure it's repaired.

Yes, I have cleared it, but it comes back…first “Pending” and then confirmed.

Thanks!

Did you ever get this fixed? I have a 2018 with same code. I have replaced fuel pump control module and canister but code still active.
