I have a 2006 chevy malibu maxx lt for little over 6 months. When first got car i tried programming the key fob I got with car and I didn't get key fob to work that night and from messing with the power locks and unlock door button now when I push power lock or unlock it does nothing but the lock unlock does work when taking my car from park to drive and drive to park. 6 months ago I bought a new key fob and programmer from auto zone worked great even remote start. Then I thought batteries where about dead so I changed battery and it would work while sitting inside car but when I got out of car nothing. I even tried reprogramming it with the programmer I got from auto zone. So I bought a new one and this time it did nothing no chime to let you know when starting the orange light on programmer never came on. So I took that back and now tonight my dash lights stopped work and my shifter gear lights are not working either.

 

Have the battery in your Malibu load tested to make sure it's in top condition. At the same time have it scanned for any codes that might have been set.
