Question about 2008 doorlocks?
I locked my car as usual the other day via the key fob. My girlfriend however forgot her umbrella in the car, and asked me for my keys to go back and get it. I gave them to her, but she isn't used to using a key fob (her car which is pretty old doesn't have remote keyless entry). She used the key to unlock the driver door but the second she did this and opened the door, the alarm went off...
I couldn't believe this at first,so when we got home, Itried it for myself. From what I can tell, the key holedoesn't appearto dis-arm the alarm, andsetting off the alarm is unavoidableif you don't have the keyfob... Can someone else confirm this?

You are exactly right. The alarm in the vehicle is controlled through the remote only. If you happen to set the alarm off and don't have the fob with you, you can just stick the key in the ign and turn the car on.
