2008 Tahoe LT 4 Wheel Drive Question?
HelloI don't use the 4 wheel drive option very much, but I'm wondering if there are other ways to tellother than the indicator lightIF the Tahoe switches out of "high" 4 wheel and back to "high" 2 wheel drive. I used it briefly this morning and I could tell that in went into 4 wheel drivebecause I got out of the mudbut now I can't tell for sure that it has gone back to "high" 2 wheel. Yes the indicator light shows it switched..
Thanks for any help or suggestions.

RE: 2008 Tahoe LT 4 Wheel Drive Question?
if the lights off, your out, but if you really can't tell, try a tight turn on dry pavement... if it wheel hops your still in 4WD... I believe the Tahoes still disconnect at the Xfer case and at the front diff... when I shift from 4 to 2 at speed, it stays locked in 4 until i let off the gas... sometimes the front diff stays locked a bit longer (i can feel it in the wheel), going in reverse 10-20 feet can help unlock them too (but its not usually required on newer vehicles)...
I like my wrangler's 4wd system... its locked in the front (less parts = stronger, less to break, and less to go wrong, but worse mpg) then you have a metal rod from your hand to the transfer case that locks some gears (actually just engages them, they are always spinning) that locks the back to the front the feeling you get from turning a ****.... just isn't the same....
