Default Reduce Engine Power Issue

We bought our daughter a 2016 Malibu with 33,000 miles. She chose this over a Camry and an Accord. This was a HUGE mistake. We have had this less than a month and have experienced the Reduce Engine Power issue 5 times. I took it to the local check dealer who claims they have never seen this before and charged us $155 for that diagnosis. We have an extended warranty but this does not apply since they can not find anything wrong with this. After much research I see that this is a pretty big problem and a lot of people have this ongoing issue.
We bought this for our daughter to commune to school 45 miles each way. She is terrified to drive the car because if this happens on the interstate she is afraid she will be in a wreck.

Are there any thoughts or suggestions before I just trade in this car.

This was my first Chevy ever and will certainly be my last! I am getting ready to buy a new truck to replace my Ford F-150 with 250,000 of trouble free miles. Certainly will not be shopping for a Chevy truck now or ever.

Most cars these days use "fly by wire" tech, using wires, not cables or links from gas pedal to the TB on the motor. Most likely is that the TPS in the interior on the gas pedal, or the TPS, or throttle motor on the throttle body went bad, Sometimes these can be cleaned up to work. Chevrolet/ General Motors is not the only vehicle manufacturer this has occurred to, BTW..
