Default Remote Prgramming 2006 malibu maxx ss

I just purchased a new Remote Start Keyless Remote for my 2006 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx SS. I bought the genuine gm remote and although I'm following the programming instructions listed online for most GM cars, I can't get the remote to program. Any suggesstions?

Welcome to the forum. I'm beginning to think we need to sticky this one. They want you to visit the service department once in a while for things like a new key fob. It takes a Tech 2 scan tool to program the key fob in. The job only takes 15 minutes or less. Automotive locksmiths with a specialized scan tool are another option. If you can take your vehicle in instead of them making a house call, it'll cost you less.

joemchugh,

I agree with EinST, you will need to visit the dealership for help on this issue.

Thank you
