Default Rotor Size Question - 2015 Malibu LT

How do I know which size rotors to get for my 2015 Malibu LT? Everywhere I look I see two sizes for both front and rear. Front: 296mm and 321mm OD. Rear: 292mm and 315mm OD.

The ones I saw online were:

14 x 2.8 x 13.3 inches. 355mm x 71mm x 377mm for the front rotors.

Rear disks 13.5 x 2.4 x 12.9 inches. 342mm x 60mm x 327mm.

And then this morning I found this. An official GM page, https://media.gm.com/media/us/en/che...2015.tab1.html A little more than halfway down it lists brake specs as Front 297 and rear 292. It's so confusing. Car is used locally, some city driving some highway.

I understand all that. What my problem is the discs come in multiple sizes and they all say they fit my vehicle. Will the bigger ones be a problem with the rims? Will they require a new caliper too? We're talking up to a 30mm difference.

Well that's 1' -3/16th" inches difference. I did some searching around and the stock brakes with the 2.5 liter motor Malibu are 321mm front (vented) and 292mm rear. (solid) It would seem that the larger size goes with the 2.0T liter turbocharged motor Malibu, which puts out another 60 horsepower then the 2.5 liter does, thus Chevrolet uses larger brakes for that Malibu. Also found rear disks that are vented, not solid, which were 315 mm for a fitment on a 16 inch wheel. I couldn't find a 292 mm disk.

Thanks. It helps. First time I am seeing this as I have been doing some 3rd shifts. Found myself sleeping full days.

No problem. I am glad I could help. When I was younger I'd put in 70-80 hour days all too often. I was a part business-owner, so I had to work hard to achieve that.
