Default vibration sound when starting

anyone have a vibration sound when you start your malibu? I took a 600 mile trip last week and it started while there. does it for like 3 sec. after engine starts. sounds to me like it's coming from the top end of the engine. called dealer since it's still under warranty. They say it sounds like I have a lifter bleeding down. I did happen to notice on 2 seperate ocasions a cobalt and a cavalier making the same sound the cavalier didn't stop though. I had a '81 mustang and had a similar sound and it was a lifter but it also had 125,000 miles on it, my '07 Malibu only has 52,000. Seems kinda early to me. At any rate it's still under the 5 yr/100,000 mile powertrain warranty. Just wondering if this was a common thing.

scorpion48,

I am sorry to hear that this did not completely fix your issue. Have you spoken with Chevrolet Customer Assistance?

Thank you,
Elizabeth, Chevrolet Customer Service

Default ok think it's fixed this time.

Well I'm crossing my fingers but, the vibration sound seems to b gone this time. Turns out it was the cam chain tensioner. They also told me to change the oil no less than every 5000 miles, which I do anyway. Though I did use the oil life monitor on the info center but always changed the oil when it got down to 30% to 20%, but he told me to stop using it because they are inacurate. At any rate at 53000 mile the oil, if changed at a regular rate of 3000 to 4000 miles, shouldn't cause part failures of any kind I would think. I'm thinking theres a part problem, seeings that he had another vehicle in the shop for the same problem.
