Default 1988 Monte Carlo SS Project

my project is a 1988 T-top Monte Carlo SS

the plan is to build it with a 400 block, not 100% sure what i want to use for a transmission, but i definitely want to replace the stock 3-speed automatic.

any pointers will be appreciated, this is my first car build, all my experience has been with trucks.

i just happen to be lucky enough that my nextdoor neighbor has an automotive machine shop, so i will be getting a block off of him, and he will be doing all of the engine assembly........

ill be taking care of the smaller stuff, it will be stripped to the frame, the frame will be sand blasted and powdercoated, needs new rocker panels and rear quarter panels, other than that the body is MINT, its going to be repainted either the same black with white stripes, or medium metallic blue with the white stripes......

my BIGGEST thing is the transmission. im not sure if im just going to go with a 4-speed automatic, since this is going to be a daily driver, or if i want to go with more of a performance manual transmission.
