Default 1996 chevrolet lumina starting issues and stalling.

I am just learning how to drive and taking my grandmothers old car. She says she drove it last week to the recycling center and it ran fine. but when she got back in it to leave it wouldnt start( no check engine light or security light was on). after waiting about 15 minutes it started right up again, but on her way home it stalled out a half mile from her house and had to coast it into the driveway. My grandfather said for the rest of that day it would not start. But yesterday when i was there it started right up 2 times in a row. the third it wouldnt. and the fourth attempt it started and then stalled. the car has plenty of gas. and has had a recent oil change. From what i have researched it is most likely the fuel pump. can anyone help?
