Default 72 Monte please help

I have a72, I have a 396 engine, I bought the big block steering shaft but the part that actually attaches to the steering wheel is too short does anybody know where I can get said part or what it is even?

Congrats on the 396 Cubic Inch Big Block motor!

Is the part you are looking for splined? Are you installing a custom steering wheel?

Yeah, I will be putting in a Grant steering wheel, but I’m not sure what you mean by splined

thats a steering intermediate shaft. it "should" collapse some and extend a little at least for our trucks it does

did you remove it yourself? the reason im asking is because i thought they all moved so they could be installed in between to fixed places

No I bought the big block steering shaft, it doesn’t extend but I think the part that attaches to the actual steering wheel is too short

You have to a custom shaft an driveshaft for the car I’ve already sunk 7000 dollars into it an I’m starting to think selling it would be better

I took it all apart, the steering column was off a 67nova!
