Default 93 Lumina transmission problem

Hello. I have a 1993 Chevy Lumina base. This summer the engine spun a bearing. I was able to buy a parts car for it which is a 1993 Chevy Lumina Euro. I replaced the engine, which were both the 3.1 L, and it runs great now, but then the car only drove around the block and now the transmission won't let it go more than 50 feet. I was going to swap the transmission, too, but I was told that the transmission in the Euro parts car is different from the one in my car and can't be used in my car. I was told something about the Euro tranny being a 4t60E and mine just being a 4t60, but from the research I did, that doesn't make sense. I don't see why the engine exchanges, but the transmission doesn't. I was hoping someone could explain to me the difference and what EXACT transmission I need for my Lumina base with the 3.1 L. Thanks!
