My son has a 95 lumina he drove it about 7 miles after work. Shut it off, when he went to leave & it wouldn't turn over. turn the key on the lights come on nice & bright.turn the key to start & nothing not even a click. We jumped the starter it started right up & run for 2-3 sesonds then shut down. the security light is blinking. Would it be the security system & if so how would you reset it.

its the theft system.


the proper way to diagnose this is to retrieve the body codes that have set.


a temporary fix that may work is to perform a theft deterrent relearn procedure. search for theft deterrent relearn procedure
