Default 96 Lumina takes 3 minutes to start

Hello, I have a 1996 Chevy Lumina with a 3.1L motor with 134,000 miles. When the car has sat for a couple hours and I try to start it, it will not start for exactly 3 minutes. After 3 minutes it starts fine and will continue starting great until it sits for a couple of hours. The starter is new so that isn’t the problem. Any ideas? Thanks in advanced.

Read the manual about the Pass 2 key and security.

Sounds like a fuel pump bleeding down, i would put a fuel gauge on it after a couple of hours to be sure.

Hey, sm3earl was right about the pass 2 key security. I sprayed electrical parts cleaner into the ignition and on the keys and it starts fine now. It has only not started once or twice in about in the last 5k miles. I thought I would let everyone know that I 'fixed' the problem. Atleast for now. If it starts doing it again, I will do this: http://vats.likeabigdog.com/to it.
