Brake light problem when turning signal is on.

Brake light problem when turning signal is on.
1998 Lumina LTZ
Turning signals work fine both left and right.
Brake lights work fine by themselves.
If the right turning signal is turned on with the brake lights on everything works fine.
If the brake lights are on and the left turn signal is turned on the right brake light goes out.
Any ideas on what is causing this?
