My wife's 98 Lumina with a 3.1 has been acting up in the rain lately. The engine misses and runs rough. I took it to the auto parts store where their scanner came up with a P0303 code, which is cylinder #3 misfire. The plugs and wires are not that old and they do look fine. But, it looks like the tower on the #3 coil might be cracked. I wanted to know if this is a common thing to happen or if this is the likely cause before I shell the money for a new coil.

maybe switch out the coil pack with another
if it is the kind i am thinking of it should work
then see if it misfires on another cylinder and if it does its that coil pack

this way u would make sure its that

 

check fuel injector my 4 is misfire to and i just took it to a shop and thats whats wrong with it....
