Default Cracking when turning

Hi,

I am new here, but I am glad I've found this forum.

I have a 1998 Lumina and when I turn the steering wheel while I am driving into a curve it cracks on the front site and also when I break harder.
What can this be?

Thx

it is possible that one or both of the cv joints is shot. this is on the front axles shafts, it's the joint that allows the shaft to turn and move while vehicle is turning

oh, and welcome to our forums, we're glad ta have ya.

One last question: How can I see if it is the shaft? Is there a test technique?
