I need help with my 97 lumina

warm up the engine to normal operating temperature...the thermostat should open and the upper rad hose should feel hot. find the 2 heater core hoses that go into the passenger compartment thru the firewall...are these hoses hot? if they are the problem may be a blend door problem. inside the hvac case...there is a door that moves to adjust the temp from cold to hot. the door should move as you adjust the temperature control.

I'ts a &^^$$ to replace thermostat on these things. I'd recommend with the engine cold pull it, if it's open, it's replacement time. These are designed to fail open, my $ is the tstat is failed.

Double check the top radiator hose to ensure the thermostat is working, I know you replaced it, but . The one thing I've not had to deal with on my 96 lumina is the heater control valve, but it looks like this is your issue.

is there a heater control valve or is it the blend door?
