Biggest thing (assuming it is a 3.1 L) is lower intake manifold gaskets will or can leak coolent into the oil. Check the dipstick. I have a 96 and have replaced the gasket twice over 200K miles. The other thing I've had to replace twice was the ecm. Not knowing the general condition of the car, all radiator/heater hose's, and vacuum lines could be age suspect.
