Smile Starter Wont start anymore

Hi there.
I have a 1970 monte carlo with a 383 stroker. I had the battery in the trunk and decided to move it back under the hood and now it will not turn over.
I pulled all the wires off my starter, and reattached them in the correct way I think ........ I turn the key and nothing happens. I grounded the battery to the frame ( grinded the paint off and made a good clean connection).
I have 3 hot wires coming off the big terminal on the solenoid. 1)goes directly to battery ....2) goes to alternator....3) goes to headlight cluster of wires ( I am assuming its for my headlights)....... I then have 1 purple wire coming off the small terminal marked "S" on the solenoid, this wire runs directly to the IGN in the fuse box. Any help would be great, thanks very much in advance! Also the vehicle is automatic and has HEI, if this helps.
