Default 1998 chevy truck half ton 5.7

I have a chevy truck I have read yr threads none of them match,when raining or after it stops esp high humid it will try start .while it happened had several mechanic come over cked the firing good,cked the psi on the pump its good!!1 I have replaced dist rotor and cap and wireds even the coil and spider injections still does that even i had replaced the fuel pump in 06 still does it (two weeks later the gauges jumps around) then i tried clean the dist cap base w scotchbrite and applied rtv high temp araound the new dist cap still does it also replaced air mass and camshaft sensor and replaced the camshft sensor and also r3eplace air idle sensor(driver side on carb and also the forgot the name sits next to air idle sensor ...still does it chevrolet wants 125 to put on thier diagnosic but tells me it wont change the computer set up inside the puter box it will only say whats wrong I have had it scanned five times is when i replaced all these above still does it,found another way to by pass this by turn the key on let fuel primed and then hold the gas pedal 3/4 to floor hold the key till the truck starts everytime it rains it worked but....ZI like still get it fixed it only has 145000 miles on it thanks for yr input

Welcome to the forum.

You will get more views by posting in the Silverado section of the forum. Using Scotchbrite on the distributor cap may have ruined it if it scratched the glossy surface.
