Default 2007 Silverado won’t shift into park

Any help would be appreciated. My shift cable broke about a week ago. I put a new cable in and couldn’t get it to adjust enough to get in park so I got another new cable because I was told the first one wasn’t adjusting correctly. Now over a week later I still don’t have park and my shifter has play in it from reverse to park but it doesn’t click into park. I’m thinking maybe I have a problem in the column but I have no idea what to look for next. Thanks in advance.

If your sure you got it all hooked together right and pre cable failure it worked right . Chances are the bracket on trans got tweeked or the lever on trans moved double check both ends of cable mounts for adjustments etc. The problem has to be related to mounting the new part.
