Default 2008 Silverado afm dod delete

I’m looking at getting an 08 Silverado I’ve researched that it’s best to delete afm dod. Here is my question, will I have to change camshaft and lifters etc? Or can it just be turned off with ho tuners and no major components to replace? Thanks so much

Welcome to the forum. The AFM can be deleted by a device called Range. Just Google it and you can find it. It plugs into the OBD 2 port and it doesn't change anything in the computer so it will not hurt your warranty.

So it’s safe to use range or ho tuners to shut afm off? Do I have to change cam lifters and valve springs?

Range doesn't work. My bro had one and his engine just blew up. Either do the full hardware mod, or get a pre-'07 truck.

How many miles did his truck have on it when he started using the Range?

hmm .... lunching?
I didn't ask for the full details, but he said it was AFM related failure, and I know that he knows what he's talking about.
