I had 122k miles and took very care of my engine changing oil 4k every time

So my question is why would the lifters squeal very loud or camshaft squeal very loud very hard to tell what it is but I took all belts off and the sounds was still there dealer told me I needed new engine

I'm looking for advise maybe I didn't take care of my engine correctly

5.3L Engine AFM Lifter failure sounds like. Was a compression test done? If so, which cylinder is showing bad compression? Lifter may have spun damaging the cam as well if it's squealing.

If you're handy with tools, you can pull it apart and inspect the damage and fix it yourself for much less than paying someone to repair it or replace the engine.

I am handy but i panic and sold it

I was scared to deal with it so I got $8k and looking to buy 2013 black diamond with 60nk miles

Hoping that I don't run into this again , I just thought 2010 with the years it wasn't worth fixing
