Default 350 to a 454

I have a 95 with the 5.7 350. I recently acquired a 90' complete truck with a good, original 454. I plan on swapping the 454 into my 95' I'm wondering if the 5.7 throttle body and ECM will run the big block? I'm not looking for big power, just reliable and smooth running. Thanks.

do you still have the 90s 454 tbi unit or at least the injectors? simply stating "yes" it will plug and play as long as you have all the sensors. but im more worried about it running lean due to the different injectors

i have the complete truck, was hoping to keep it as simple as possible and just put my existing tbi unit on the 454. Are you suggesting I use the tbi of the 454 and plug it into the 5.7 wiring?

350 and 454 tbi are two different animals, they won't swap. Plug the 454 into the 5.7 wiring and swap ecms also and you will be good to go. You may have to lengthen some sensor connector wires and I believe the plug is different on the 454 throttle position sensor. I don't remember what else is different but it shouldn't be much else.

you should be able to "run" with the 5.7 ecm but you should really have the fuel injectors off the 454 installed on the 454 and the ecm. you might also have to think about the trans. the 454 prob came with a th400 while your 350 should have a 4l60E. the ecm for the 454 wont have the setup to run the trans even if it had a 700r4 or 4l60 neither one are electronically shifted like the 4l60e.
