Default 97 Chevy won’t start

My 97 Chevy shut off on me today at a stop sign it was low on fuel so I figured maybe the gauge was a little off no big deal so I put 2 gallons in it and still nothing so went back out 2 more gallons in it and still won’t start now it’s turning over just fine so I dumped a little bit of gas in the carburetor and turn it over and it started right up for a few seconds so did it again and same thing fired right up and shuts off when gas burns off so I know it has fire so I put a new fuel pump on it about 8 months ago and a new fuel filter but I start checking anyways and pump come on when key is turn on , sounds good I guess so I take fuel filter off and I blow through it and it seams fine so I check regulator valve ontop engine and it shoots gas out I don’t have a pressure gauge to check and I don’t claim to be a mechanic by far but I’m mechanically inclined and have enough common sense to fix it if I have a direction to start . So if anyone has some ideas please let me know I have about 9 hours before I need to be to work and my wife’s car tore up weeks ago so this is our only vehicle so please if you have enough experience and some good ideas on what it can be I will take it bc I don’t have any left except the injectors are clogged and from the videos I have watched it’s not fun or fast but I will go for it

Have you checked the fuel pressure regulator? Sometimes they can fail and cause no-start issues. just a thought!
