hello everyone. my name is shan i live in pierre south dakota. im 18 years old and work for my dad in construction.

i use to own a 1998 v6 ford f150 5 speed manual. last week the clutch went out of it and ford wanted 1500 bux to put a new one in. i said screw that and started looking for new pickups. ford pissed me off so much i said im done with ford and went to a GM

i was a die hard ford guy. i hate ford now.

i found a car dealer in town with a 2003 1500hd 4 door short box 6.0L gas. very sharp pickup no dents or scrapes anywhere interior was brand new looked like. never smoked in.

i went and asked the dealer would you take a trade that has no clutch in it. they said well we are having a push pull drag sale.

so i drove the 98 v6 from ford to the dealer like a semi and they gave me what i wanted for it.

im so happy with my new pickup.

i bought it last monday and have already put 1000 miles on it. the only thing i hate about it is it gets 11.8mpg at 70. it has 4.10 gears which i know is a big part of why it gets crap mileage. bought other then that i love it.

any suggestions as to what i can do to it to make it at least 13-14 mpg at 70. driving home on friday i set cruise at 61 and got 13.2. which i can live with. but i dont like going slow. haha any suggestions would be great thank you.

Welcome Shan. Yup them 4:11's will do it every time. Post in the tech section. Maybe some ideas there for you from the tech side.
