Hello from Alabama (Roll Tide!!)
06 Lazer Blue Metallic LTZ with ebony leather
<HR style="COLOR: #333333" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->Hey guys I'm Wes from Opelika, Alabama and I'm a big Alabama fan (Roll Tide!).
I bought my Impala after my Jeep wrangler Transmission took a dump (for the second time, I was tired of working on that Heep - a syncronizer shoe slipped out and wedged the trans in 5th) in the middle of winter and I was tired of being cold and wet. The first week I had the impala it was sleeting and I was thinking how nice it was that I was warm and dry with windshield wipers that worked, seat warmers and a heater that took care of me.
The Jeep is back together and running fine now. Thread found here - Jeepforum.com. I found my car on the other side of Atlanta at Horton Auto sales (GMC dealer) for 16K in december 07 I think with 30k miles on it. I bought an extended warranty through my bank which I thought was a better deal, but probably should have bought the more expensive one from Chevrolet. I wanted a commuter car that I would be happy with when it was paid off, so I went for comfort and leather. The ride of the 5000# car is comfy. I liked the way my dad's lumina rode and the reliability that he enjoyed out of the 3.8 or 3.5 or whatever was in that thing.
I joined the forum today because this car is more complicated than anything that I've ever worked on before and now my engine light is on.
Thanks for your help in advance,
Wes

Really annoyed with my bowtie today. Trade in value is 10K less than I paid in Dec 2007 and a ton of the darnn bells and whistles aren't working right. From the tirepressure sensors, to the check engine light and climate controls this car is a PIA. At least with the jeep I could ignore the CEL because it was paid for and I could work on it.

Welcome Wes and enjoy the forum. I too own an 06 Imp and bought it with about the same mileage yours has. Don't throw-in the towel too soon, OK?. Code readers are good.
