Howdy! I have an 05 suburban I just started going through. It has 300,000 and low oil pressure. I’ve dropped the pan for the o-ring replacement. It wasn’t terrible in there but the old one is definitely hard and flattened. I may put a pump in while it’s apart. Anyways, nice to be on board!

Welcome from Florida. Change the pump while it is apart rather than have to do it again later.

I am planning to do exactly that. I am looking at the Melling high volume pump on Rockauto. That seem to be a good choice for an engine with just over 300K, or is there another one I need to look at?

You're tackling the common oil pressure issue head-on, great call replacing the o-ring and possibly the pump. With 300k, it’s worth the effort. Good luck, and welcome aboard.
