Default Kinda of new to chevy, a couple of questions

Hi all,

First I will introduce myself. I am a 21 year full time college student with a associates in Welding Engineering and working towards a Bachelors in Engineering Tech. Management. I own a 1984 Dodge Ramcharger 4x4 that I am restoring. I own (just bought, first drive today)a 2003 Malibu LS with 18,000 miles I just purchased for dirt cheap. I am a big commuter to and from school and work. Thats why I bought, it gets great gas milage compared to my 95' Explorer. I hope this car treats me better then my 97' ZR2. I was told to keep a eye out for the intake gasket on the Malibu's because the anti-freeze eats away or something along those lines. Can anyone give me some heads up. I will post my ram site here where I have my RC posted IF anyone is curious to all the work I put in, P.S. you chevy boys have a easy time at the pick and pulls I do not! Thanks in advance, and for your time.

Truck if anyone cares

front what i understand. there was a problem with the dexcool corroding the headgaskets, and on some engines it was eating the aluminum. (this is what the dealer tolled me). apparently the "new" dexcool has different additives, and the gaskets have been upgraded to prevent this problem.

Can you tell me how to know if I have the nasty dexcool, can I drain mine and put fresh coolant in to prevent this? What years did they cure the problem or begin too? If you have any dodge problems you come get me LOL. You gents and ladies(covering all bases) are very helpful.
