New 1995 1500 Owner in Ohio.
Hello. My girlfriend's son is the new owner of 1995 Chevy 1500 2WD that used to belonged to his late great grandfather, then his grandfather. The truck does run (more on that in the appropriate area) and and needs a little cosmetic work. I went to school for paint and body and the work it needs is within what I can do. He's currently 12 and I'd like it to be a project we can do, a bit at a time and be done by the time he is 16. We know we will be replacing engine, transmission and wiring to name a few. I have worked or cars and done minor repairs in the past. The body is great shape. The truck stayed on a farm in the Fort Worth area. Its now in Ohio and the salt will eventually take it's toll, but for now and the foreseeable future, it will be garage kept. we will try to preserve it as much as we can.
I am looking forward to joining this community, learning from you all and contributing along the way.

Welcome Jay, great 1st intro post!
You are so fortunate to have a 12 yr old to work with - hope he gets the wrench bug big time with your help. Fun to have a rig passed down through the family.
