Default new guy from fl

Whats up guys/gals? my names kane im 19 next month ill be 20. im looking at getting a silverado and lifting it, putting a full exhaust and more. but i just joined to do some research first before i buy, i currently drive a saturn ion (http://ionforums.net/viewtopic.php?t=5179, http://ionforums.net/garage.php?mode...ehicle&CID=283) just incase anyone was interested haha. anyways. any suggestions on years or things to stay away from?

That is a sweet Ion. You can probably help people out in the Cavalier section (I think the Ion parallels the Cavy).

I do like those doors. Does the Ion have rear struts? If so, why not a brace there? Love the car and welcome too.

thanks guys, i have a rear sway bar in the back and strut bar in the back.

anywho, so i went lookin at trucks today at gibson truck world in lake mary, found some really awesome trucks test drove a dodge, ford, and chevy, definately likin the silverados

now my question is how many miles on avg are gas engines good for and how long are diesel good for? with reg maintenance of course

Short trips, expect around 15. Highway can probably be stretched out to about 20-21.

With regular maintenance, it will last as long as you want to drive it. There has not been enough time to tell if they will hit a half-million without problems, but they will definately have a good long life.
