Hi guys, just got myself a 2000 Lumina SS in a fantastic orange colour (not sure of the official name). Anyway, i'm out in Dubai and there is not a massive following for the Lumina over here so gonna browse this site!!

Can someone clarify the whole Lumina name? is it the same in the U.S.A? or is it called something else? I basically want to know how i'm going to find out technical info and commonmodifications for the Lumina SS.

Im not sure if there is a Lumina SS in USA. Ive heard of the Lumina, but not the SS model. Could be wrong though.

 

the lumina "SS" was never sold in the us due to emissions standards. it was strictly marketed in theaustralia andmiddle eastarea. it was poduced by gm's australia division and sold strictly over there

 

pretty good specs on it too. 5.7l 328 hp v8. producing top speed of 280kmh and 0-60 in 6.7 seconds

 

Lumina SS is a very rare vehicle!! Welcome to the forum!! Great to have a member outside of North America too!

 

Oh well it's nice to know i'm bringing something rare to the forum!! Once I give it a good clean etc i'll get some pics up.

I knew the car is produced in Australia for the middle eastern market but does the Lumina not share the same chassis, engine spec as the the Impala?? Someone told me they're practically the same car. I'm interested to know because if I have probs with the car i'd like to know whether or not I can search the Impala section for clues to my worries!!!
