hey everyone. I am looking at a 96 sierra z71 package has the 350 vortec auto tranny and its not shifting into overdrive. i was told because it needs a solenoid what kind of cost am i looking at for the solnoid and how hard is it to change. Do i have to pull thw bottom plate on the tranny or is it plug and play?

 

Thats going to be in the tranny, how many miles? If that is it, not too big a job.

 

it has 153000 on it and both the tranny and motor was rebuikt 2500 miles ago. it has a 2500 stall speed

 

2500 miles on a rebuit tranny, I'd not think it would have any problems? If it were me I'd before buying have the seller fix it. Yes You will have to drop the pan to replace it.

well its official im apart of the z71 clain. i bought that truck and getting t fixed this week I do have one questions im wondering what kind of hp this truck has it is bored .40 over has racing pistons and rings and a has a cold air intake and the ac has been removed. it has the 350 vortec
