Have lurked here before. Decided it was time to join finally. Have had OBS Tahoe, a 1996 2 door Sport, recently sold my 2002 Tahoe LT after I bought my 2005 Tahoe Z71. If I did the signature right info will show up and my avatar should show a pic. I ran automotive repair shops for over 35+ years and still have copies of my ASE Master Tech certification and my ASE Service Consultant certification. Like to still do most of my own work and love to help when I can in the forums. I am more old school and am familiar with the OBS and NBS but can also help with the newer platforms.
Welcome to the Chevrolet Forum, PNW NBS Z71. We could use another ASE Technician here, although tech2 is also an ASE Tech. I was going to become a mechanic myself (I am old school too) but life doesn't always turn out the way that we wish it too. Nice Tahoe you have there. I am partial to Silver painted vehicles myself. I am looking forward to your expert knowledge here.

I promise to pitch in wherever I can. I had been looking for a silver Tahoe Z71, either a 2005 or 2006 NBS, and found this one about 1/2 mile from my American Legion post I belong to. Turns out the owner is a Vietnam vet too and we came together on a great price for getting it. I like to get my rigs to a base line, so I lifted it and inspected everything and have ordered in $850 worth of belts, tensioners, idler, trans cooling lines, trans filter kit, front and rear brake pads, hardware, rotors, park brake shoe kit, plugs, wires, air filter, front and rear diff fluids, trans fluid, transfer case fluid, Dex coolant, brake fluid, power steering fluid.....all of it AC Delco. Found very slight seepage at back of oil pan but am just gonna keep and eye on it to see if is pan or rear main seal. Did the oil change with AC Delco filter and full synthetic oil while I had it in the air.
