Default Reduced engine power banner comes on

The reduced engine power light keeps coming on. When I turn the car off and then start it back up it works ok. This is starting to be an issue I cannot seem to get a straight:confused answer on the problem from mechanics.

Gentlemen,

there have been many different fixes for this, some work some don't because they may not be the same issue for everyone. For me here is what I did. I have a 2009 GMC sierra, had the reduced engine power problem show. I researched and ended up taking the advice of a chevy mech. Have the code read, if it say anything related to the throttle body position sensor, try this first, CLEAN THE TROTTLE BODY before you take it the dealer. I used seafoam. the code cleared, its been two years and it hasn't returned. I just clean the throttle body every now and then......$10 fix
