Default Saying hello

Hi people,

First time chevi owner here, I fell in love the second I sat within her, it didn't stop me bottoming out on a kerb, thought I could get away with it, know better now - it looks like she has forgiven me for my rough treatment, no damaged done.

She is all pretty in white, fully skirted with popping eyes and feet, 1998 4.3 V6 auto, raised in Canada, went visiting Ireland (she was spoilt) came to England with her Irish plates get spoilt even more now I have her.

She has rolled on this earth for 144,000 miles todate. I'm the 3rd owner,

I adopted her 24 hours ago we had a little fight, as said above, twas all my fault, but we have patched things up, let's hope it lasts.

There are no problems to report, she is 99% perfect, had a team of pros look her over, subframe slightly rusty clean treat and paint.

This part is the unusual reason I've joined you good people, part of the sale was boxes of brand new spare parts for my lady, lights, satnav, dials, pumps, belts, caps, cup holders - Honestly you wouldn't believe what's in these boss, I can't!

3 manuals plus hand book, you name I think it's there?

My problem, I have no idea what they are or what I should do with them.

So, I need your help.

My knowledge with motors is zero, I fill them with fuel and drive - I don't deserve this lady, but she has fallen into my care, which I take seriously.

HENCE THIS POST.
I'll post some pictures of her and the parts I have and maybe you good people can help.

Tomorrow she needs some new shoes, it's gonna hurt the pocket but we all need good shoes!

That's me, I hope I can learn from the best of you all.

Kindest regards Crumpet.

Hello Crumpet and welcome to Chevrolet Forum!.

1998 was a good year, I know.

Post your pictures in the proper sub-forum and we can take a look at them.

You have lots of the mechanical knowledge of GM-Chevrolet Division experts here, just so you know.

Welcome from Florida. If you don't want to use the parts you can sell them. Do some research and see about what they are worth and you can sell them on Ebay or other places.

Thanks for the suggestion, I've gone through all off it and much seems to be for a serious chevi motor enthusiast, so I'm uncertain of what to do with anything in surplus. It looks to me like the parts have been purchased in mind of what commonly breaks? Water pump, coil covers/s, belts etc.

Some things are in tiny packets without any information, just a clear plastic short tube?
ill do the pics asap.

Some of the parts might be worth keeping as you might need them sooner or later.

Just what I need and thank you.

Got here a nice set of shoes today, took kwikfit from 1pm until 3.30pm to fit them, she wasn't happy being jacked. They had a lifting ramp but it was in use.

Removing the caps from the alloys nearly proved impossible but they had to come off and with several whacks from a large rubber hammer and a long hook we got too see her bare feet. Dirty girl 😁

Being the UK things got crazy, they had no idea what torque or tyre pressure was needed, they claimed their data base holds the information on every vehicle except mine?

On booking in they could not find which model my girl was, booked her as a chevi van - she has been listed as a safari, blazer now a van. I keep telling people she is an Astro GMX - I really don't have a clue myself, as said previously I'm no petrol head.

Anyway, she looks good in her new boots!

Forgive the no pics yet, I've been very busy.

Tomorrow is her big clean day, in and out by hand so I can see and feel what needs sorting out, getting her two bench seats out was hard work single handed. The font may need to wait.

So buckets sponges hot water and a carpet cleaner should be a good start.

I found the ashtray today, UK cars come without these days.

Oh and everybody seems to love her, the whole kwikfit team seemed to gather round her. 😂😂😂

That's the second time I've spent time writing a post only for them to disappear - frustrating doesn't sum it up.

What am I doing wrong please?

Regards
Crumpet
